What to expect from the facial fat transfer procedure
Facial fat grafting is performed most often under local anesthesia with sedation, although general anesthesia may also be used in accordance with the doctor's treatment plan. It typically takes anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. Minute incisions are made at the donor sites through which slender metal cannulas are inserted. Using advanced liposuction techniques, fat is then harvested from these secondary regions, purified and refined in the laboratory, and is finally injected at strategic points across the face.
What will my recovery entail?
