Arm Contouring Gain confidence, lose the sleeves
Determining your candidacy for arm contouring
While a majority of patients seek out body contouring for the abdomen, hips and thighs, not as many are aware that there is an excellent procedure called a brachioplasty that can beautifully reshape, tone and tighten the frustrating fat and excess skin that hangs off the arms. Sagging, flabby soft tissue in the arms is a normal result of the aging process, although it can also be due to major weight loss. Regardless of its cause, patients unhappy with the appearance of their arms can find relief and renewed self-confidence from the arm lift procedure. Wearing strapless dresses, swimwear and sleeveless clothing is finally a joy rather than a source of stress.
A good candidate for brachioplasty
- has tried exercise and found it did not produce the desired results
- is at a stable healthy weight
- does not suffer from any serious medical conditions
- is a non-smoker
- is looking to enhance the results of another procedure for a more comprehensive outcome
- has reasonable expectations for improvement rather than perfection

How is arm contouring performed?
Clients undergoing arm contouring will receive general anesthesia. Surgery is performed in the comfort of our immaculate, state-of-the-art in-house operating suites, which are accredited by the AAAASF and outfitted with the most advanced equipment on the market. Every member of our surgical team is a thoroughly vetted professional focused on providing you with an outstanding patient experience from start to finish.
Arm contouring is typically executed in two stages. During the first session, liposuction is used to drain the arms of excess fat. If this is sufficient to correct the problem, then the procedure is considered complete. If additional contouring is required, an incision is made along the back of the arm or in the chest region, through which the doctor may excise superfluous skin and tissue. Incisions are always made as inconspicuously as possible, with an intent to minimize scarring.
Recovery
After surgery, the doctor may place drains at the treatment site to help discard excess fluids. The patient will also be fitted with compression garments that help reduce swelling and expedite healing. It is recommended that the arms remain elevated above the heart as much as possible for the first few days after the procedure. Mild discomfort, tingling and swelling are all normal responses to arm contouring surgery, and can be treated with pain medications prescribed by the doctor. Most side effects will subside within 10 days post-op, at which point clients can begin to return to their normal routines, taking care not to put too much stress or strain on the arms.
